1 . Come with thorough preparation and early.
Bring all necessary stationery , such as pencil , pen , calculator , dictionary , clock ( hand ) , eraser , tip - ex , a ruler , and others . This equipment will help to keep concentration while doing the test.
2 . Calm and confident .
Remind ourselves that we are ready and will do the exam well .
3 . Relax but be vigilant .
Choose a chair or a comfortable place to do the exam . Make sure we get enough place to do it . Maintain an upright sitting position .
4 . Preview first exam questions ( if the test had not time limited ) .
Take 10 % of the overall test time to read the exam questions in depth , mark key words and decide how much time it takes to answer each question . Plan to work on the problems the easy first, the most difficult problem . When we read the questions , record the ideas that appear to be used as an answer .
5 . Answers exam questions strategically .
Start by answering the easy questions which we know , and then with the questions that have the highest value . The last question that should be done is :
The most difficult matter
Which takes a long time to write the answer
Has the smallest value
6 . When working on multiple choice questions , know the answers to be selected / predictable .
At first , ignore the answers that we know are wrong . Guess the answer is always an option when there is no penalty reduction in value , or when there is no choice answers that can be ignored . Do not guess an answer choice when it is not know exactly when the sentence reduction and value in use. Because our first choice will usually correct answer , do not change it unless we are sure of the correction that we do .
7 . When working on an essay exam , think about the answer before writing .
Create a framework for the short answer essay by noting first few ideas that want to be written . Then nomori the ideas which you want to sort first discussed .
8 . When working on an essay exam , answer directly the main points .
Write the topic sentence in the first sentence . Use the first paragraph as an overview essay . Use subsequent paragraphs to discuss the main points in detail . Support points with specific information , examples , or quotations from the text or notes .
9 . Set aside 10 % of our time to re-check the answer .
Check the answers ; avoid the desire to leave the class immediately after answering all the exam questions . Check again that we have completed all the questions . Reread the answer to check spelling , grammar and punctuation . To answer the math , check if there is carelessness ( eg misplaced decimal ) . Compare actual mathematical answer to the calculation concise .
10 . Analysis of the test results .
Each test can be helpful in preparing for the next test . Decide which strategy suits us . Determine which strategies are not successful and change . Use previous exam papers when studying for final exams .
